ie.exe is the name of a file that was used in windows95. Product Name Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95 Copyright Copyright Microsoft Corp. 1995 In the later and current versions windows this filename has been truncated. And probably it may have been/ or being used in some legitimate applications as well. But recently this filename appears to be used by virus writers to infect your computer. So if you have a process/ file of this name running on your computer, check whether it belongs to a legitimate application or not.
