Turn system restore off :You should do this in order to remove the virus files that may be stored inside the system restore backup files, you can turn it back to ON after the computer is cleaned
in XP : start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore > system restore settings , uncheck the box that says "turn system restore off" Press Apply, press ok.
in Vista : type system in the search box, select the system option, click on system protection tab. Uncheck the system restore on the C drive, press Apply , Press ok (it will prompt you that you are turning system protection off , press that button to do so)
I can not open system restore to turn it off? A balloon pops up from the System security icon on the lower right part of the screen. it said application cannot be exicuted. The file rstrui.exe is infected. Please activate your antivirus software. Now what do I do??
I have the same problem that josh has and I cant open system restore or command prompt to run the system file checker. I cant open up any application. The warning message says DLACTRLW.EXE on mine.
What should I do?
